About the eVisa Laos
The Laos eVisa is an electronic visa for travelers who wish to visit Laos for short-term stays of up to 30 days. The eVisa Laos is granted through an online application system. It was introduced to simplify visa processes for citizens of eligible countries who want to travel to and within Laos for short-term stays.
The eVisa Laos can be obtained by completing a simple and straightforward online application form. Applicants must provide their personal details, travel information and passport data.
eVisa Laos Authorized Stay and Validity
The Laos eVisa grants visitors a stay of up to thirty (30) days in Laos.
Travelers can apply for the Laos eVisa at any time, up to seven (7) days before arrival. The Laos eVisa has a validity of 60 days from the moment of approval. However, if the departure date is later than 60 days, the approved Laos eVisa will be sent prior to the trip, taking into consideration the arrival date.
Passport guidelines for the Laos Visa
Applicants must have a valid passport, which must be valid for a minimum of six (6) months from the date of arrival. Lao PDR eVisa holders will be granted a 30-day stay at one of the designated ports of entry in Laos.

Currently the Laos eVisa is valid for entry through the following designated ports of entry:
- Wattay International Airport
- Luang Prabang International Airport
- Pakse International Airport
- Lao-Thai Friendship Bridge I
- Lao-Thai Friendship Bridge II
Laos eVisa holders may enter through any of the indicated ports of entry.
Applicants need to provide personal details, passport and travel information. The applicant’s passport must be from an eligible country. When completing the application, the traveler must use a passport with a minimum of six (6) months validity from the intended date of arrival.
The following documents will be necessary to complete the application for the Laos eVisa:
- A copy of the biographical page of the passport
- Recent passport-style color photo
- Additional documents may be required depending on nationality
These documents can be submitted at a later time if the applicant does not have them at the moment of application. By accessing the link in their confirmation email, the applicant will be able to return to their application and provide the supporting documents required by the Laos government.
